2014 Howard County Film Feastival

Kick off this year's "Love Local" Restaurant Weeks at the 2014 Howard County Film Feastival! This event will feature local restaurants preparing food using locally grown produce.

Learn creative recipes from your favorite Howard County restaurants and find out where you can buy your own farm fresh produce.

We will also be viewing several mini-films about local agriculture.

This is a Free Event. Donations will be accepted at the door to benefit the Howard County Food Bank Community Garden. For more information call 410-313-2707.

The Dinner: A Documentary on Sustainable Farming
Showing of “The Dinner: A Documentary on Sustainable Farming” followed by panel discussion of local chefs and farmers.

Learn about the plentiful harvest in your community while exploring the many nutritional, environmental, and economic benefits of incorporating locally grown foods into your everyday life. Meet local farmers and hear about what they are growing and how they are working to make these products accessible to the local community. Experts from Howard County Economic Development Authority and University of Maryland Extension demonstrate how everyone can reap the benefits of buying and eating local. Learn when and where to find local products, seasonality of products, shopping tips, and recipe ideas. Also, hear from local chefs on how they are incorporating local ingredients into their menus.

Be sure to visit the Farmers' Market in the Miller Branch parking lot before or after the class, open from 2-6 pm.
